@fz she deserves to be forced out. now get rid of every leader she ever promoted or who ever worked for her. outsource every team she ever led. financial teams are verizon are the worst in the field. would not even call it finance at verizon.

Smart woman a good leader. She was an old school bell atl exec who came up knowing all aspects of the business. Not many leaders left who grew through the ranks and know both telco and wireless. People who have been around a while know she was a good leader. Fact- having leaders who know our business are good for us at Vz.
Not easy being CFO in Noah Ark DEI culture where Hans on down got 2 of everything.. Just saying!

@an That scene played out in my head with Peter Griffin as CEO and Aunt Cass as SVP.
I am pretty sure these conversations started happening shortly before Hans was dismissed a will continue for while longer. Cuts at the top feels like the better action as long as it doesn't get replaced by something worse.
@a9 her consumer cfo tenure was during the market share loss to T-Mobile and declining customer service amidst the chaos of nonstop reorgs.

She was always nice and sweet when she came to town and seemed to like the people working for her. Unlike the last SVP leader that would never come to town and she was hateful when she did.

@ac Overheard at the water cooler this morning:
CEO: So how are you enjoying your career at Verizon?
SVP: I love it. I can't imagine being anywhere else where I can delight people everyday.
CEO: I see, I see. That's nice. That's real good actually, real good. So... you ever think about being anywhere else?
SVP: No, never.
CEO: You sure? You've never thought about retiring early?
SVP: My goodness, no.
CEO: Well... maybe retiring early would give you more time to do the things you really enjoy doing. Write AI poems. Sing AI songs around the campfire. You know... the stuff all the cool kids are doing.
SVP: Uhh, okay? I'm not sure where this is going.
CEO: Oh its not going anywhere in particular. We're just talking. Two people talking. Just chatting. Lil chatty chat at the cooler.
SVP: (Looks at empty cup in hand and then the water cooler)
CEO: (Slurps his cup of water)
SVP: Well maybe I should consider retiring early?
CEO: What? Are you sure? I'd hate to see you make a rash decision. But if that's your decision I support it and I wish you the best of luck and I hope everything works out for you and I think there is someone available who would be perfect to take over your role while continuing to work in the role they're currently in. It a loss for Verizon for sure but I think this might be for the best in the long run. I'm glad you thought of it. What a wonderful decision you made. I am so happy for you.

She knew she was part of the next RiF coming up and “retired”.
Murmurs are finance to be mostly outsourced seem to be ringing true
She works/worked in Treasury. Separate function of Finance. This is cash management, taking on debt..etc. Not sure how she got the gig as she was a a finance CFO at one point but that doesn't mean you understand these complex transactions.
Anyways glad she is moving on. Need better ppl to lead this company for us to to grow and hopefully keep our jobs
