I had nearly 30 years in, spanning many company buyouts and mergers. Gave my 1 year notice that I was going to retire so they could get a deputy assigned to the programs I managed and start learning the customers, the roles, the products, etc. One month later I was given my walking papers and escorted from the property. I wasn't even allowed to clean out my office or say Thank you to the wonderful Teammates. I was just an old fa-t that they were determined to remove... And lost decades of knowledge that won't be usable by anyone now.
@am just got out after an eternity, I really never had an issue, it was an easy gig and was paid more than I could have imagined.
I was there for 8 years and just left for a new opportunity. When I joined Harris 8 years ago, I thought I was going to retire there. But I was wrong. The culture is so toxic that it is hard for hardworking people to survive. I am smart enough to get myself out of there before more mental damage happens.
Been here 18 years but finally getting smart and looking somewhere else. Don't plan to make it to retirement at L3Harris for sure.

Honestly no one should unless you are late in your career. Otherwise you are short changing yourself. I am from old school Harris and will retire very soon and always advise people to look around for other opportunities
