Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

NEW FAQ JULY 30th

There is a new explanation on the staggered dates and why it was done. Doesn’t say anything about appealing the date. Also a question about last day work and separation date.

@a3 separation date is not the same as the last date worked. Speration date = no longer an employee

@ak they all include a last day worked and a separation date. The dates could vary depending on the state and PTO payout. Someone from CA can claify if the separation date was later than the last date worked due to PTO payout.

@b1 maybe September is the only one that has the same? Mine is August 2027 with 2 different dates. I wish I got the Sept date

@ak mine listed both dates but they are the same date. “Your VSP application has been accepted; your last day worked will be Sept. 4, and your separation date will be Sept. 4.”

@aj thank you. That is interesting.

I didn't take VSP, so may I ask. Did the all approval letters list a last work date and a separation date? Or approval letters only list the 2 if the dates were in fact different from each other?

SECTION A – NEW AND UPDATED FAQS AS OF JULY 30, 2026
A1 My VSP application was accepted, what happens now?
• Please notify your people leader of your VSP application acceptance and work together
to plan for a successful transition of your responsibilities. Centene will proactively
notify your people leader of your acceptance by July 31; therefore, we encourage you to
connect with your people leader in advance of this notification.
• If you have not already done so, please ensure you have registered on the VSP website
using a personal/non-Centene email address.
• You will receive additional information and instructions on how to view and sign your
Separation Agreement and General Release closer to your separation date.

What is the difference between my last day worked and my separation date?
New question as of July 30
After your last day worked, your access to Centene systems will be removed and you will
no longer need to report to work, however, you will be paid through your separation date.
Please review the Benefit Guide for Voluntary Separations that is posted on the VSP
website in order to understand and comply with all actions that must be taken ahead of
your last day worked.

I’m confused because I thought the separation date was the last day worked, especially since we aren’t allowed to take Vacation leave the last two weeks.
