Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

DUMMYS Guide for VSP 2027/2028

If your separation date is in 2027 or 2028, you weren't part of the RIF. The round about Sept date is for those whose job is being cut.

If your position wasn't in jeopardy, what makes you think you qualify for a Sept separation date? The answer is you don't. If your job was safe, you had two chances to change your mind about the VSP. You said "Nah, I'm good." Now you're all over the internet acting like something happened to you. It's so unfair that your job isn't being cut. GTFOH your VSP should be denied!

If you're that unhappy, stop crying online, and resign. You tried to play the system, that's on you, nobody else. Te chingaste pendejo!

P. S. This will be difficult for the UNGRATEFUL B-MS  to understand. You're not losing your job, the VSP doesn't apply the same everyone. Read this again, THE VSP OPP ya you know me DOESN'T APPLY THE SAME TO EVERYONE.

Do you understand? I hope so,  you're a selfish ingrate comparing yourself to someone that's losing their job. Get your lazy a-s to work!

@dp THIS! it’s been a total mind torture the whole thing! Then people and the rude comments who think this whole thing should be easy take the VSP or not we should all be happy about the whole situation! We come to this site to vent and get information and to connect with people who feel the same way we do confused scared and mad!!! However it has somehow turned into rude comments and put downs is ridiculous!

Chose not to take VSP. However it stayed your end date would be on or about 9/4/2026. There is NOTHING on or about end dates in 2027 or 2028. If the VSP stated the truth I would’ve taken it! They lied and duped everyone. So upset. Then London calling says the employees should be so proud of themselves with the Q2 results. Ya she’s rewarding by laying off. Talked about how positive the VSP was. She needs to read the room. People are really ticked off and they should be

@ah what do you mean by "they can pull the VSP whenever they want and wait until you resign when the separation date gets closer"?

@av The undue stress and anxiety and adverse effects on their health seems like a very valid reason for a lawsuit. I mean, stretching things out the way they are regarding VSP end dates and in other cases regarding upcoming big RIF lacking transparency and yet giving just enough “teaser” information…both of which could be enough to cause people sleepless nights, and ulcer, high blood pressure, and perhaps even a heart attack or stroke.

@av FYI HR knows nothing about the VSP.

I agree with this post. Everyone was anxious about the VSP timeline, but now that approvals are out, the complaints and endless speculation continue. No one on this forum has the official answers. Please read your VSP emails thoroughly or contact HR directly for accurate information. Regarding layoffs, we simply have to wait until August to see whose roles are impacted. Your anxiety and frustration are completely valid—it is a stressful time—but the constant venting here is becoming counterproductive.

@af there are a couple of factors, keep in mind those that have jobs that aren't in jeopardy aren't happy and would like to leave. What saves Centene from the risk of being sued...VSP. Remember, they can pull the VSP whenever they want and wait until you resign when the separation date gets closer.

Those of us that have early separation dates don't need replacements. Do you think Centene is going to let employees leave when that position has to be filled? Don't forget we have no idea when the hiring freeze will be over plus they need to go through training.

@a6 I'm losing my job while these people complain. My entire team received VSPs for Sept/Oct, our plan has one of the highest #s for marketplace. If your team deals with the changes to Medicaid like marketplace does you should've already been notified. If you weren't, there's a high probability you will be involuntarily laid off. When that time comes, you can negotiate the VSP, yes you can 100% negotiate the VSP. Very low probability Medicaid linked to a disability/SSI products will have involuntary lay offs.

This doesn't include AI, someone else posted possible positions.

@ad Then why would the company approve VSP's with a longer separation date time frame instead of just denying those and approving the ones who's positions were in jeopardy? Make it make sense.

Ya know, every time I come to this forum, I think to myself that Centene is about to lose some really good people. People who know how to communicate respectfully, use proper grammar for the most part, and genuinely care about the work they're doing.
Then OP comes in with this corny a-s post. How exactly do you "play the system" when it was never designed with your best interests in mind to begin with?
Please do us all a favor and shut the fu-k up and get back to answering those damn phones. Members are calling, bird.

P.s. Yo job ain't safe either fool. Cope harder

@OP Maybe just maybe we can try and be kind to one another as we are trying to navigate through this whole process instead of comments like this and calling people dummy’s isn’t even necessary!

@OP you sound nice! Wow angry much? Not sure where this is even remotely necessary! This is a Layoff board NOT a job board. Ge-z calm down people are frustrated due to the fact of the misleading information we have received so far so everyone has a right to vent if it makes them feel better! Your condescending comments are not warranted here

You've got to be the d-mbest person on the internet. The separation date ne8nf later than September has absolutely zero correlation to not being part of the RIF.

If you were offered the VSP and took the VSP then by default you are part of the RIF.

From here we now have to wait to see how many involuntary releases there are. Hope that clarifies your stupidity.
