Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

there will be no sunshine for NIKE at least until the end of March 2027

I just saw, Nike 1st quarter 2027 and I will declare that it was extremely underwhelming to say the least. There was some sign of life in running but everywhere else, it was just not easy to be enthused.

So anyone hoping to Nike turnaround, I am afraid that for at least for more than 6 months, they will not show up.

And if things will continue as is then I am afraid that some point they will be LAYOFFS.

With our leader EH proving that he is not adept for the job of turnaround, I am pretty pessimistic.

I am 47 year Nike independent dealer and I have seen all. Great time and bad times (like when Reebok came and kicked Nike's a-s) but this time, I have a distinct feeling that Nike is sinking and going to dark end.

And be a RAT!!! Jump the ship before it start sinking LOL

TK, he has power to take over the company based on his daddy's control.
But not too sure if he has will to do it.

There is good in family taking over and there is good in bring outsider to run the company.

JD was dangerous because he never showed his ability as leader in everywhere he went.
In addition to it, I don't think he has the vision to lead highly fashionable brand Nike.

EH looked like an ideal candidate on the paper with his long tenure in NIke and ability to get along with many people etc but he has shown that he does not have ability to make it work.

Now, what Nike does not need is bring a great candidate with long corporate pedigree.
UA tried that rout and it failed miserably.

What Nike needs is combination vision or at least have ability accept/nurture other people's vision and also have skill as leader/mananger.

Welll someone with that ability is far between among the CEO candidates.
So Nike is stuck in a rock and hard place.

@a2 you can bring anyone to this sinking ship, it will be better than EH.

I don't know much about TK but cannot do worse job then EH.
You can bring Marx brothers, I don't think they can do worse job then EH
You can resurrect Steve Job and I doubt that he can save this dying elephant

Rumor has it that Phil’s son Travis will be next in line for CEO after EH cleans the rest of the house.

with Nike sure to lose more market share purposely in China it might be pretty ugly number going forward.

Closing more dealers so that they can distribute? Didn't they tried that before and it was a spectacular failure?

Trying same thing, expecting a different results.....hmmm that is definition of insanity according to my old professor. LOL
