@bd what is 388?
Was let go today. 9 AM meeting with manager and his boss. Expecting email from HR.
@az got my news today. 26 years. We don't mean sh-t when it comes to corporate greed.
@aw The new wave is always today. PIN iT!
@b8 Not true. There was a useless guy in my group from 388 that was impacted today.
Anyone from Canada Location? Are any layoffs happening in Canada ?
@b2 Managers Control Assessment - its Operations Risk
Irving, yes.
Irving, over 5 years for me. Tech.
Was let go this morning. Irving MRD team.
388 Today, none, nothing, even the people wanting to leave. I am disappointed and have to scale back on any remaining work contribution and ethic. Good luck to y'all in the flyover state sites and keep posting here on TheLayoff.com a great source of hope.
Any news for Technology?
I'm now the only US based person on my team 💀
@an Ops, TM, ICM....any news. IRVING?
@b3 good riddance
@a3 This is the first thing I did when I was laid off back in february! I wanted to share my lay off story and let people know what’s going on in different orgs/departments. Community is important! If you don’t have anything nice or useful to say, don’t say it at all!
@b1
MCA - is it part of marketing & content?
Was let go today. USCC MCA team.
@as correct as they are replacing them in costa rica. Those remaining will be training their eventual replacements. Not many US people will be left for MCA
Let go after 15 years. Service means nothing.
The layoffs today appear to be wide spread. Multiple departments and multiple regions.
Clearly there is something going on. There must be a mandate from the very top to cut costs. I’m not sure if EMT will truly understand the resulting impact with cutting so many people in one day. There will be a fallout.
They are sitting on a lot of cash due to record profits and want to leverage this opportunity to trim the ranks. However, the folks being let go represent real work that was being done.
Now they’re gone …. ‼️
Billing here. Canned after four years today. Cash and trade processing analyst was my job title
@ar The next wave could be this September or October.
Control Execution in Recovery/Collections took a huge hit. Both analyst level and direct supervisors. Myself and my entire team are gone. Many of my peers and their remaining team members also got hit in the business control world.
Managers Control Assessment (MCA) under USCC have 100+ impacts.
@OP Only today or we still have another wave?
@ak Sorry to know that you got impacted. What is the last date you will be on Citi payroll.
I am only hearing about Data teams being impacted (and across the US). Anywhere else?
@ak Irving too, impacted.
Irving -I'm impacted had meeting 9 am 1-1 and they laid off . Anyone have 1-1 meeting they are done
One on my team that I’ve heard about so far. NYC client org.
@aa locations? Line of business/function?
@a7 they tend to do it early in the morning, so you’re probably good.
Confirmed....bloodbath!!!!
- No lay offs for Non-citizens.
- "New" contractors SOWs are getting approved in the high cost locations.
- Almost NO layoffs in India, Poland, Costa Rica and other low cost locations.
- More hiring in off shore locations: both employees and contractors.
- American dream??? Yes, just a dream!
One of my colleagues was laid off 30 minutes ago, based in NYC. I am still processing the news. There's only ONE person left in my colleague's team. Unreal.
If no meeting so far, it means I'm safe this round? Irving, Enterprise Risk team.
@a3 it’s their choice. Most folks like to post somewhere and say it out loud if it happens to them. It’s a way of coming to terms with it. If not, they won’t. But others on their team might, or if you hear about other teams being impacted, then here’s a place to post it.
For all the layoffs happening over the past few years, our area only saw the first cuts in May. This was for ICRM, when we had cuts across the globe. Only 4 in our Belfast site, 0 in London, 0 Nj.
Best of luck to anyone impacted, but these threads don't bear much without LOB / locations.
got laid off in Jersey City NJ today
I’m sure that if someone’s life is turned upside down today, that their first priority will be to come on here and give you all the details to make you feel better that you were spared. SMH
