Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Chances

Should we assume those who were NOT eligible for the vsp are safe?? Seems like the only ones affected are the ones with vsp offers?? I also assume that if we’re not laid off we will be dealing with the fault out. But im PCC so idk how IT, or any corporate roles would impact me

I can say one thing that I do know is that after vsp if the numbers weren’t hit the next step is to focus on associates with PIP’s and LCA’s this . This was mentioned if the VSP numbers weren’t hit, we have not received a headcount of those who took it yet . In my dept more took it than expected so they pushed all of them out until March. The is going to give us time to restructure and redirect some roles.

If they offered this VSP again, I would seriously consider taking it. Now that I know cognizant has signed on. That is a clear signal. My job is gone.

I expect to go also due to cognizant contracts. I hope they know the quality of work will take a big dive!!

@a2 I did the same after 26 years took the offer and am leaving on 9/4. I could not be more thankful but also understand the picture and everyone’s thoughts and feelings. I do hope by me leaving someone else may be spared. Best of luck to you and to all

I would not assume you are safe. I was a people leader there previously and had to layoff someone just out of training and someone that had been there 9 months

No one is safe, realistically. Well, except perhaps Sarah "I clearly have no idea who The Clash were" London and her band of loyal misfits.

I wouldn’t think I were safe. I do think they already had a list of associates to RIF. If they didn’t apply for the VSP, I am afraid they will be RFI’ed in August.
I think I was the perfect candidate to be RFI’ed, also the perfect candidate to apply for the VSP. But all that is just what I think. I got approved and with an exit date of 9/4. Love what I do, and I do it very well, but it’s time to go. I hope I saved someone else from losing their job. Good luck to you and everyone else that are still concerned. 🤍

Absolutely not safe. Why do you think Centene is bolstering its offshore contracts with Cognizant? They're going to fire much much more.
