When I was working from home during covid, I was amazed at how much work I got done. I was proud of how much I accomplished daily. It was a pleasure working every day. Now that I'm back in the office, the commute, the noise, distractions, bothered by boring id--ts has completely demotivated me. I only come in to do the minimum. They really miscalculated the whole opportunity.

Here's an interesting case --

@cr - RECORD PROFITS!!
(ok, well they still didn't pay us, but we did it! Now morale is in the toilet, despite their Fake So-Called "Engagement" Survey)
Can these -in-office buggers just be put to pasture already?
Gosh, maybe if we went back to WFH and achieved those record profits, they could afford to pay us.
@e4 - this is why I quit. They won. Their strategy is working. F-em all.
Much happier on the outside.
@hh It has not been put into official policy. Some managers communicated it early as if it was policy, but it is not true (yet).
I thought they abandoned the non consecutive office days after they got negative feedback? And is the 6 hours a day confirmed? How are they tracking? VPN monitoring?
I sure hope that four day in Office every week applies to the people who reserve offices in addition to people who are assigned offices.
I also find it super comical when leaders brag about being in the office.. uh, you are literally behind a closed door all day. You are not engaging with anyone and we all see it.
I miss the days when I could work from home and not be interrupted mid task by someone who wants to come by and chitchat. Americans have it all backwards and other countries are definitely doing it better..
The three non-consecutive days is because the office would be a ghost town on Mondays and Fridays and offer limited seating Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursday .. so they’re trying to spread it out.
I'm fairly certain the 3 "non-consecutive" days is simply a matter of them not wanting everyone showing up to the office Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and WFH on Mondays & Fridays. Should that really match to them? Of course not. However, it's just another mechanism for the higher ups to flex the their muscles and exert their control of over you. Their egos really need that. That's all RTO is about, control...and the tax incentives municipalities are floating if companies bring employees back to the office to spur economic activity.
@ee its not about having people in he office. It's about creating requirements that people will have a hard time following so if they need a headcount reduction they can cut the people not following the requirements and use that as a way to not pay severance.
@e9 towards end of this year.
@e4 how can they do that at OBP? The floor I’m on is at 140% capacity.
I would love to hear them explan the three non consecutive days rule. What's the big deal about wfh two days in a row? Stupid
@e4 Any timeframe on this?
WPE changes are coming later this year. It will be what was communicated, at least 6 hours in office for it to count, three non consecutive days unless you have a close door office, then you are 4 days. This place is crazy! They expect to pay people less at
The same time. Everyone is miserable.
Could not agree more. With each stage of their RTO plan it has caused my level of not caring to increase more & more. Between pointless RTO, lack of pay increase & sorry excuse of bonuses, it’s crazy how little I care about this place compared to several years ago.
Bosses like to have people show up. It makes them feel important, all the people in their orbit. Focusing on product is fiddly and trivial by comparison.
Nothing beats the pure joy of a full-day, face-to-face KPI alignment marathon.
The coffee’s cold by 10 a.m., the slides are still loading at 11, and by 3 p.m. you’re deep in a spirited debate about whether “synergistic outcome metrics” should sit above or below “value-creation levers” on the RACI.
@OP Remember that during Covid, SLT routinely stated that they were amazed at the high productivity levels they were seeing. Now they claim being in an office is productive. We all know it is not.
The other error they’ve made is with the reduced bonus pay. No incentive to produce beyond the basic. Folks are there just for the salary, nobody cares anymore about this place like they used to. B3
100% agree! “Collaboration” in my office of just a few people, is everyone hiding behind closed doors. It’s all just garbage.
They absolutely misread this. I am willing to bet that if a bank came out and embraced WFH for the non-client facing staff, they would soak up the true productive talent of the industry for about 80% less in cost. And kick our butts….
AGREE! They told us it was for "collaboration" but I don't have a single coworker in my office OR entire state. I drive 2 freeways each way every day to get to the office for absolutely no reason. I sit in a room that is mostly empty and no one I know. Pure stupidity.
