They are the Nissan of copiers, and have been for quite a while now.
Management followed every snake-oil pitch that came along. Lean Six-Sigma, Agile (Agile is for Information Systems, not Products), and outsourcing product development to third-world countries. Sprinkle in Jack Welch worshiping tards and you get the products we have today.
They were always cr-p. The entire Blass line was a messy running piece of junk. Rollers melting, feed rollers were a joke. I've worked on Toshiba, Sharp, Ricoh, and more. They all have issues, but Xerox was the most high maintenance box ever. The only thing I liked about them was being able to replace an entire unit instead of replacing individual parts, i.e, fusers and drum assy.
