Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

The final decision

Fideliscare of NJ. Care Management. If we do not apply for VSP, come end of July and they need to layoff, who makes the decision about who will be layed off? Does the direct supervisor have input? What about the manager?

Who makes the final decision and do they get additional input from anyone?

@af this is not true from my program in the last round of layoffs. It was all the newest employees who were laid off

100% it was the highest paid when I got laid off…I was a top performer and had awesome reviews, never on a pip in 10+ years. They kept the oldest ones, most likely with anticipation they would be retiring soon and to avoid any age discrimination.

I noticed is the last big layoff from 2023. The people who left were the ones not meeting goals. Supervisors who got laid off were not meeting their inventory goals. Analyst laid off were not meeting production or quality goals. So there is a good chance if you are not meeting, that you could be laid off. Unless they just choose to gut certain depts and not look at performance. I think they will be looking at tenure (who makes the most), performance (meeting or exceeding) , and what work the department does when making cuts. (Is your dept easy to replace, or does it need specialized workers). But that's just my opinion, who knows what they will actually do.

If your annual evaluation was not “meets” or better overall, I would be concerned.

Usually it is the highest paid/usually older employees and sprinkle in a few younger to make it less obvious.

We don’t know and will not know unfortunately. It can be random or can be hand picked !!! I hope it is a handpick and not a handpick of feelings but more of who works hard and is reliable with integrity….. if not, the company and members will suffer. And at least to the workers, the members matter, not so much for the company, clearly
