Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Centene Layoffs

I am fairly young and beginning my career, I’ve been with centene for 6 years and my VSP contract is not bad. I’m contemplating taking it and walking away but my only concern is that they do not even release my department. I have been through years of “we are rebuilding” and multiple job layoff scares. I have no idea what to do and it’s driving me crazy everyday since London crusty a-s sent that email.

@a5 You counld easliy land a job in a hospital making bank, too many openings for nurses, but I guess there is a reason you work in a corp office???

@a3 As a nurse and this being my 3rd lay off from private companies as well this is a big huge disappointment. I’m at the end of my career and planned on this being my last job. I can’t do floor nursing anymore and am very good at my job here. It’s so sad they are treating us as expendables. That’s my new teams name. Forget one Centene it’s one London and that’s all. We are all expendable in this day and age.

Get out while you can. It is a company plagued by layoffs. I was let go after nearly 20 years and regret that I stuck around as long as I did.

@OP SAME. I don't have your tenure, but I am also at the beginning of my career. Walking away might be the best route given the instability of this career path. Not only do I feel compelled to leave Centene, but the government sponsored care sector as well. Though, part of me wanted to stay at Centene for at least a decade lol... its really not a bad gig from my experience. best of luck!
