Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Rest, recharge , reset… whoooo hooo!

Don’t you feel electrified by this message of Robin love? Is anyone really going to come out of this totally refreshed and ready? Do tell please.
I for one, don’t see any rest or recharge. I am going to be handholding offshore and dealing with direct client issues. I welcome being let go as long as I get full severence. And that isn’t likely. I think veterans of this place are going to be jipped on this. My manager even told me the aboves are looking to limit or stop payouts on more than 50% of those people targeted.

How stupid are you? You think this is some kind of gift they are giving us? As if we are really getting a break? This time of year is the most stressful of all at this underpowered hamster wheel. And I dont even know what non essential meetings mean anymore? Everything here is ‘do it or else does not meets’
You blasted half wit.

I laugh every year they say this. More than half team are off so personally busier than normal. I wish I had time to relax learning how to properly speak AI. Obviously senior leaders are off sipping egg nog and thinking no-one really doing work keeping the lights on. They will then come back after holidays saying now you relaxed you need to do even more, while I'll be needing a rest.

@as+1kcw4nxq3 That’s not what’s happening. Only thing different is not having to drive in. Even though we’re in office 4 days. We schedule meeting for when we’re all home. So not sure what the difference is other than not dealing with traffic. As far as handholding offshore. That doesn’t end.

I think the poster is saying he/she is not getting anytime for relief and tossing it off due to their normal ongoing India instructional meetings and critical business client engagements. I just happen to agree 100% with that. You don’t do very much here do you? HR will toss you off.

The recharge period means not needing to attend non-essential / non-business critical meetings. What you describe doesn't sound like any of the above. Just admit you want it toss it off and be paid for it.
