Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is it true T 2025 Severance is changing with a Tiered System (1 Month Lev 1 Mgr ?)

Past Severance Patterns
AT&T's severance offerings have varied based on employee classification, years of service, and location. Here's what the data shows:

Management Employees (Non-Bargained)
Standard Package: Previously capped at six months of pay, with two weeks per year worked
2025 Changes: New tiered system offering one month salary for Level 1 managers, with an additional month per level

This is the rumor every year. Can confirm it’s been discussed for years (same details) but trigger never pulled. Who knows if it ever will. There’s a reason, whatever it is.

If we could stop acting like the existing T severance package for non bargained for (Management) is some kind of super generous , way above the normal for a large corporation…that would be great.

It is below average for a company this size.

“ AT&T is an at will employer. There are no grounds for a lawsuit“

Wrong.

Being an “at will” employer in no way prevents them from being sued, for any reason. Even if severance was received, they can still be sued. Especially for illegal actions like laying off protected classes of workers in higher numbers than others.

“The money is here to keep you quiet and away from suing T.”

AT&T is an at will employer. There are no grounds for a lawsuit.

Stinky will not change severance policy. The money is here to keep you quiet and away from suing T. Lowering or cancelling the payment will cause an avalanche of class action lawsuits.

Appropriate. A market focused company aligns with corporate standards. Maximum two weeks is more than generous
