I can't wait until VZ royally sc--ws up the negotiations in 2026 and has to redeploy the remaining management employees that just saw 20% of their peers RIFed to climb the poles and install fiber again.

@ej I doubt you did 8 to 10 jobs a day and if you did there were definitely call backs. You can’t do 10 jobs a day and do quality work.
@an Worked for cable before. Climbing poles and doing installs is mindless work...anyone that can hang christmas lights can install fios. Used to do 8-10 jobs a day with no call backs with cable co, Fios techs bi--h and moan when they cant do more than 2 jobs a day.
It won't be contractors. I work in VZ HR and they're already planning for what will happen if an agreement isn't reached.
90% of the field managers wwere hired off the street and they dont even know the job,and most dont wish to kearn the job .so if there is a strike they will just hack up the cables and you going have to pay $$$$$$ to fix there hack work.thats how the ball rolls.

strike ..aint gonna happen. Im union and theyll just extend the same terms and any raises will just go to help off set the soaring cost of medical. Union will sign on the dotted line and sell the new contract as a huge win,
@aw agree with you 100% rhey gathered up its army of hacks from frontier and starry they will tell the media “ no work disruptions while contract is allegedly being worked out” I got the word they will save a ton of cash if they use them to speed thru the wiring so when they eventually sign a new contract guess what…. Take what we offer of leave it CWA is cooked good luck with that supposed union friendly guy you will learn soon
Att tried to use contractors during the last strike in the southeast region and it was a massive failure. Contractors give no fuuuuks and do a lousy job overall and they cost the company more.
Unions days are numbered with AI, automation and Operational consolidation gaining speed!
Best bet fir Verizon union members is to start learning a real trade you perform post-Verizin union layoffs.
As soon as you get contractors involved on the wired side of things, it becomes a clown show. I wouldn't allow those people into my home, as they're simply gypsies, traveling from one part of the country to the next, in search of work. Sell the wireline side first, before you attempt to replace the union. But, you do you, Danny boy.

It will be contractors. The market is full of available contract employees that could handle all of the field work. The employees left will handle internal center based work and also be supplemented by contractor support.
I am not saying I think it will work well, but I do think they plan to test that model if there's a strike.
