Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Anyone else morale low and feel sad

I survived but I don’t feel comfortable now. How long until I’m next? Executive don’t give a cr*p about us. I’m in network assurance and we were already thing with the VSP and bo-m! Hit us 15 more people in our market. What now??

If you are not actively searching after all this you weren’t paying attention. 3rd severance offer in 4 years made me finally accept what was going to happen and I have never been happier. You have the convenience of having a job now if you weren’t impacted so use that as stability for a little bit to find something else. It is not a matter of if but when. Verizon is notorious for being a layoff company now and the future has never been less bright there. Cheering for all of you to find a better life after Verizon. It is one of the worst companies to work for right now.

Agreed. I’m down in the dumps about this. I survived only to see my managers team reduced by 50%. It’s odd, all of the new hires that were college grad backfills from what we lost from VSP, which was a combination of those who took it and those who found new positions, all were let go. Basically a group of contractors that started a few months back was decided could handle the work. It’s going to be rough. Good luck everyone.

Those left behind will be overworked and overwhelmed trying to clean up all the MESS ..... Skeleton crew of ONE doing the work of 3, 4 or more people that were let go. No support, no backup, just more pileup ontop of the poor souls who were "lucky" to stay behind until the NEXT ROUND OF LAYOFFS coming after the Frontier merger.

A lot of emotional moments today. Nothing is easy when people get impacted by such thing. Hopefully we can bounce back and the impacted ones will find jobs soon beyond Verizon

Survived, but very sad. Dinner table talk with kids and family picture, and holidays coming up, made me so sad for the teams who got impacted.

It’s hard to put on a positive face when colleagues all around were affected. How can I pretend all is good? Didn’t feel motivated to do more than I had to and seemingly many survivors took an early day today, and I don’t blame them.

I’ll probably start looking to leave next year
