@cv you're either not paying attention or you don't work at Intel. It's been openly announced in recent quarterly meetings that the goal is to run "lights out fabs" as much as possible. Outsourcing starts next year, and I've heard it'll happen as soon as January. Ultimate goal is near complete automation in the fabs
