Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Job postings

So, since around Dan's epic 3Q webcast (where he actually didn't even discuss 3Q), the only positions posted have been retail, and maybe just a couple random others.

I realize there's a freeze and likely the reason, but I'm still surprised to see they've stopped posting for our international territories, also

The other thing is some people here are talking about retail getting axed, but given there's about 20 retail job postings each day, I think that's pretty far off.

Thoughts?

The only positions being posted are retail stores that are under minimum staffing levels to keep store open

OP here, I have 3 posting report alerts delivered daily, including one that has every posting for each day. There used to be 5-10 India and/or Phillapines posting per day prior to The Day. My point remains, they have also stopped.

If retail is frozen, why are there still 20-ish retail postings each day?

@am FYI on Jobs Hub selecting Country > India produces 0 results, however, at least one position in the unfiltered results was in Hyderabad

If you set your filters right, you'd see them hiring in India. I saw a posting in the past week for an India position.

But I wonder if they'll still follow through on the new NY hub now that H is out. Considering it can only hold approx 1k employees and there's already more than 1k in NY, How the H are they trying to call that a hub loc and add more people? The money they seem to be wasting to not be able to accommodate the local talent is mind boggling. Wonder how close it is to the Barbie House

@OP I literally just saw this. Just retail, and a sprinkling (like 14 positions company wide) of positions, mostly in New York/Basking Ridge or the major sales center for the region. Can confirm.

The cloud is big
The cloud is dark
The cloud smells just like an HCL selloff, or a layoff of a magnitude that we have not seen before
