There’s talk of more layoffs coming, although the last round didn’t address the real issues and was just a quick fix to cover overspending. Cutting experienced employees with deep knowledge of the systems has created gaps that are hard to fill. The company is losing people who understood how things worked, and new hires don’t have the same level of expertise. Until leaders make real changes, it’s unclear how things will improve.

@p4 Ah, the shining beacon of indecision: a leadership team so visionary they've managed to turn "strategic alignment" into a yearly game of Zoom vs. Teams roulette. One year it's Zoom because "collaboration", the next it's Teams because "integration", and by Q3 everyone's back on Zoom because someone's cat filter went viral.
Meanwhile, the great GitLab vs. GitHub debate rages on. Free or enterprise, open-source or "cost-optimised confusion." And let's not forget the CI/CD holy wars, fought bravely in Slack threads and forgotten in meeting notes. The result? A beautifully orchestrated symphony of chaos, where no one knows which tool to use, security slips through the cracks, and the only constant is leadership's commitment to never committing. But hold on, FLD just got promoted! Bring more popcorn!
@pd If I were current chairman of the board of F5 I'd wanna get the he-l out of there too
@p0 THIS!!!!!
@pd the final nail in f5s coffin
@p4 nice word smithing. Truth is fld has been "rebuilding" going on 9 years now and f5 isn't losing employees. - they were consciously terminated. A core group of us years ago during this time brought up quality issues but were rewarded with terminations. If this group were brought back f5 might regain its credibility but that won't happen
Doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere anytime soon: https://www.tradingview.com/news/tradingview:2c2f61d00d167:0-f5-inc-announces-chair-of-the-board-succession/
Please avoid unnecessary political and divisive comments. There’s a lot happening at F5, and the direction isn’t clear. The core issue seems to be that F5 is losing experienced employees who understood the company’s systems, while bringing in more leadership that doesn’t fully grasp the operational challenges. This disconnect is hurting knowledge retention, quality control, and decision-making. Moving forward, F5 needs to focus on rebuilding expertise and empowering the workforce rather than adding more leadership.
@n6 FLD is a failure and with respect to f5 he will always be seen as a failure who was responsible for one of the greatest cyber breaches in modern day history
@OP FLDs lack of obsession for quality products has led us to where we are now.
@n6 easy for those of you that are still employed to say that. FLD is out of his league and needs to go
One small suggestion to all disaffected ones of you. you are better off putting your energy on helping the company as opposed to complain about FLD. Yes he has done mistakes yes he is obsessed about diversity (massively ) yes he has offshored a lot of jobs and opportunities but so many other companies have too . he has been kind with the workforce as opposed to so many other CEOs that have ruthlessly cut pay and benefits since Covid. How would you like FLD being replaced by the CEO of Amazon? Do you think for example the wellbeing days program will continue? I don’t thinks so.
The company and him needs you more than ever be constructive show the leadership once again how great you are. F5 needs you!
@OP whose going to get hit in the next RIF coming up?
@hw too bad attack on Harris was brought into this
@ee Alright, folks, let's really break this down. We've got a guy running this tech company who, honestly, couldn't secure a paperclip if his life depended on it. It's like he's been trying to protect our data with a "key" made out of spaghetti noodles.
And let's not forget, these latest security breaches were so bad, even the Wi-Fi at a McDonald's would've been more secure. Now, folks, this is the kind of leadership that's, like, you know, like when you're talking about "the importance of the moment". But you don't really know what the moment is. It's like Kamala Harris saying, "We will work together to make sure that we are a country that recognises the importance of the moment... whatever that moment may be." Yeah, that's the level of competency we've been dealing with here.
And, folks, it's like trying to fix a leaky boat with duct tape. I mean, we all remember when she said, "The American people have spoken, and they have said, 'Yes, we need to do something about this, whatever it is.'" That's how this guy's been running security business. No clear direction, just hoping it'll fix itself.
Time to end the nonsense, folks. We need a real leader, not someone who thinks "cybersecurity" is a catchy slogan for a TikTok dance. Let's make the change, let's make deals. It's time!
Even at $200 a share I wouldn't invest in F5 as they have no new products in the pipeline
@OP late November early December isn't going to be nice
@ex He has enough money. What's the point of dealing with all these Krashans? What's the point of losing patience? Over what? Additionally, F5 will have to deal with Zero-Day issues for years to come.
@f9 tradition is to run the sh-t show before holidays in December. It’s the time when Santa blocks your account and sends digital f.. off postcard.
It's not surprising if there are more layoffs on the horizon. When are they expected? Who gave this news? Management? General rumor?
Does McAdam need to come out of retirement again to fix the mess FLD has created? Employee morale is at it's lowest and customer confidence is at it's lowest.
my advice: pls, leave the company. have some self respect. f5 is a joke. competitors are actively working to take clients away from f5 . Nobody trusts f5 anymore to be a ‘SECURITY’ company . nobody with any self worth would actually WANT to work here and tell others they work at f5 ..it’s humiliating.
Let me tell you, folks — what’s going on at F5 is a total disaster, just unbelievable.
They keep laying off amazing American workers — smart, loyal, hard-working people, and replacing them with cheaper staff in India. And now, guess what? Massive security incidents everywhere! Total chaos! They thought they were saving a few bucks, but now the hackers are having a field day. It’s like they left the doors open and hung a sign that says, “Come on in!”
And then you’ve got FLD, walking around bragging about how “simple and secure” their software is. So easy, folks, “a kid could use it!” Well, the hackers sure agree! They’re using it every day! You couldn’t make this stuff up. Total clown operation! It needs strong leadership, not PowerPoint champions!
T.
The answer is to hire those experts back with a raise and an apology, and let the stock take a hit for a couple of years if that’s what it takes to get on track.
Leadership doesn’t have the smarts or guts to do that, though.
@OP the real issue is FLD is out of league and needs to go. The next cut will be bad
Think f5 is donezo
Been trying to convince folks to abandon ship in the uS
