I guess they really don't care about losing valuable employees. I wonder if DE will address the real problems in streaming, E.g. over-bloated processes and such, that slow progress and innovation down in the technical area. To me that should have been the priority. Not putting the entire org into chaos and panic mode, thinking that 5-days in office is a panacea to solving all problems with an org. Also, who goes from RTO to 5 days? Not even a middle of the road compromise perhaps hybrid 3 days in office tops for those with extenuating circumstances? Just imagine all the talent they will lose. I guess they're confident they can easily replace ppl with folks that can work in office 5 days a week. For those that decide to stay behind, good luck working with run of the mill staff.

"It's mimicking the fed reduction-in-force. I'd expect nothing less from the billionaires." - For sure. This is DOGE at a corporate level. This country is run by oligarchs. We're so sc--wed.

It’s concerning that some questions are being asked without first reading the email or this thread.

Everyone says it's 2 weeks for each year of service. Ignore the post from the guy who claimed 3 years/16 weeks, he was just trolling.

16weeks for 7 years.. is that even right? Director level. Why are people saying 16 weeks for 3 years?

@ar Thanks for sharing! That would be consistent with 2 weeks for every year of service.

What I don't understand is how someone else got 16 weeks for 3 years of service. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Thirty-two hundred dollars he gave me; Thirty-two hundred dollars for a lifetime. It wasn't even enough to pay for the coffin

Do you think they will allow other offices besides LA / NY? I'm thinking SF for streaming folks

@OP odd the offer isn’t higher than normal. You’d think they’d want to also use this as an incentive to get people to leave.

@a7 what does this amount to for you? One or two weeks per year you have been with the company?

by

Post ID: @ab+1k4aqtevm

@a7 curious how many years you have with the company, if you're willing to say.

@a4 no, it would start post 10/31 otherwise there’s zero reason anyone would keep working as-is

What do we think about the 10/31 date for those who opt in for severance? Do people work up until 10/31 and then get severance after that date? Or is the separation immediate as of 9/15 and the 6 weeks until 10/31 is what you get regardless of years at the company?

Phase 2 is probably more of the same, just delaying it. Said any fully remote workers will be eligible for a similar opt-in program as Phase 1. Doesn't sound like they are interested in keeping any remote workers unless they're project-based or non-staff.

And a severance option for eligible employees who cannot or do not want to RTO full time.

Let’s hope it’s enough people that the rest of us don’t get laid off in November.
