@1wn You must be in the IT group managing servers or the like. I have had a tickets open for weeks and I find the person who set the system up they fix in minutes.
@ef wrong stay tuned
I don't know about you but I love my off shore partners. Almost all make me look amazing all the while idling. I find it nothing short of laughable they could replace me with ten off shore resources. If management is that inept, go for it as I am sure I will land in place where I am more appreciated. I can point to countless times I have seen them spend 80, 120, even more hours on something and I follow up and manage in minutes. Yes you read that right MINUTES. I am sure there are better resources off source but we are not getting them!
By the time that happens, GM would have been retired on his second yacht.
@1rx Our Indian colleagues are great people. But the culture divide is going to be the downfall. India workers say yes to everything but rarely meet milestones/due dates.
What are we going to do?
@1rd Absolutely…
That’s why a lot of our jobs are being shipped to India. They always say yes for more work.
@1fh not 100 true. I know lots of people that work hard and smart. They are being laid off. The slackers that kiss butt are staying. You can't turn a blind eye to politics. MDT want yes people - it's the same yes people that don't actually know how to do the job and are ruining the company.
@1je C3 4 life. IYKYK
@1pg bootlickers be like
Go Elliot! Time to drain the MDT SWAMP of useless positions.
We're doomed
Nina Goodheart announced “retirement “ yesterday. Guess Structure Heart was hit badly this week. Good luck everyone.
Anything for cardio?
Sad they have begun early this year.
Usually they start in April
Sad times. Looks like the earnings are going to be bad
Yes, GCCM (corporate comms) definitely impacted. Significant cuts. News just going out this morning. Two small teams I know of are losing 2 out of 6 and 2 out of 3 people
Yup - it's started. GCO has been impacted. Seems to be it's all rolling this week.
@s1 I am praying for all affected by these cuts. It’s hard to accept because the company continues to hire and promote. Just know that you have to keep going and move on for those who really matter…
Folks, I had a 1 on 1 yesterday, we just talked about the Superbowl and basic "hows it going at work" I guess very BU is different.
@1fa which business unit?
@1fh the two most competent directors I knew were laid off a few months ago. Shortly after the leader brought in “their people”. Quickly realized that was my sign to go when the people who were legitimately good at their jobs, get stuff done, good people managers were outed in favor of people who’s primary reason for being there is saying yes. Since those layoffs other competent leaders have the left org on their own terms.
@1fe I think that’s just one of the layoff prongs. I’ve gone above and beyond to meet the requirements and still received a “business update” email today.
Ever wonder why some people never get laid off? Well maybe, they follow the rules. Actually do a good job. Don't sc--w around when they should be working. I could go on and one. But having a decent work ethic goes a long way to keeping your job.
Thoughts are welcome.
Anyone know if they are targeting people based on in office days?
Bummer! I know the business update meeting invites will hit GO&SC hard. New org ballooned to 128K employees. Not sustainable given endless bottom line cost saving metrics. Products produced post org structure are mediocre at best.
A few coworkers I know also just got the ominous "business critical" meetings on their calendars for tomorrow.
And the moment she'd set down the last crisp of bacon on its plate, Peter had spun her around and knelt down before her, working her pants down her legs. Shuri cringed and pressed her thighs together, though surely it would come as no surprise to him to find out how wet she was.
@1f1 So sorry to hear this. Make sure you get everything you need to update your resume. Kinda weird this is happening so early (and not in April).
I just got the ominous “Business update” meeting invite for tomorrow. Best of luck to all.
With aortic splitting from SH, layoffs are definitely coming. Probably around April
@OP Happening this week.
Tomorrow in some sites in CST - people got 1:1 with their managers
@1av
March and April timeframe
For the people saying 10-15% from every OU, when is this expected to happen?
I heard 6 months max severance and basic 2 month garden leave, still not a back deal. None ever mentions what health payout looks like.
I have a feeling people will get laid off but with half the severance.
I keep hoping for a layoff but I don’t think it’s going to happen.
@fd it is based on your value to the company/functional area, usually.
@z9 and a lot of engineering jobs are going to India. Medtronic is anti-American.
