@yd not that it’ll be your problem who does the work if you do get laid off but the classic Mattel way is to “outsource it”. Dummies at the top don’t realize if actual change management isn’t implemented Mattel will actually do and make nothing. So, run.

@yd sadly the only correct answer is to leave even if you make it through. This last 5 year leadership rotation hasn’t been able sc--w in a light bulb without breaking it and retreating to “layoffs are the only way!”. And it’s not going to change. Go and grow elsewhere and best of luck to those who haven’t been around long enough to get a fair package.

I spent hours setting my goals, only to possibly get laid off next week? Ever notice how some/most of your cascaded goals have nothing to do with your actual job? "Explore this, implement that, collaborate with, execute that". Who's going to do my regular job that I'm already overworked with. It takes a full-time person to achieve these goals.

@qd Therd is a loophole. The last few layoffs the warn notices came afterwards. They keep the people laid off on the payroll for the 60 day notice and tell them it’s part of the severance. It’s not like we don’t notice these things.

I didn’t see anything reported on WARN so whoever is affected will not receive the 60 days pay before severance…so if the grown ups could contribute to this convo that would be perfect!
