Cutting your way to health is not the way. Figure out how to run a business. Letting people go then posting you have jobs in research is stupid. Good sales people research. Know who you lay off before you ignorantly do so. There are so many things wrong here. We are mad at who was let go and fear we are next even if we are good and hitting goals or close. Apparently that doesn’t matter though.

Veritas isn't anywhere near done with layoffs. Junk bond rating, a need to refinance a debt load they already cannot afford, rising interest rates, and years of incompetent management by Jack and his misfits. Does anyone really think that they aren't at the end of their "financial rope". Incompetence can only continue so long, then you run out of money. HMH is a classic zombie company. The clock is ticking down. Getting laid off with severance is better than the last group out the door that won't get anything.
Where is the accountability in management? Why are they being spared with bloated salaries and bottomless spending for expenses and customer entertainment?
Red October is still a holiday for HMH.

They laid off center for model schools and nwea reps. This is layoff 2 of 3 I’ve been told. They missed their goal as a company by 300 million. They even let go of high performers because they are costly with high bases. They cut the entire center for model schools team - which was stupid as it was doing well. Veritas should not have education companies in their portfolio, they don’t get that schools have 0 dollars right now as they are using extra dollars for rising fuel prices for bussing.
Nwea makes no sense with having account managers fly into territories when an AE lives right there. There was a definite better way to save money over cutting reps that were high performers.
Does this mean our usual Oct layoff won't happen? Or will we now have a third round....?
