Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Our micromanager is harassing our team

This micromanager is harassing our team by asking passive aggressive questions regarding which day in the week are we going to be in the office. Funny thing is the he won’t even talk to us in the office much and stays on his useless calls.

Every member of our team has different day preferences and one can’t predict set schedule.

Company policy says that we can pick any day of our choice.

I am on wits end.. as if everything else going on is not enough .: we have this person sniffing on our necks

Where can I report this ?

@k1 Not a manager but believe what you want. Those two that were written up were 11 and 14 year FTE's that were let go last week. Good times!

@j0 Wrong! It’s decided by the employee.. stop being a micro manager. Everyone hates you and you know it

@OP Report what?? It's not a policy, it's a perk that Verizon allows if the job duties allow! At the end of the day the days you work from home are decided by the manager! We had 2 individuals written up in our group because they thought they could ignore the manager! Quit crying and go back to the office! This WFH has made people soft I swear!

How many days working from home and in the office in the end is dictated by the departments manager. If he/she says you work 5 days a week you work 5 days a week and HR will back him/her. My department just went through that and multiple individuals was written up because he/she thought because VZW said they could they could ignore what his/her manager required him/her to do. So, with another looming layoff in the future I think I would go the office when I'm told or bounce.

@ep makes sense - the more people they can force to leave without payoff the better.

Joke's on them - I do even less in the office and that stationary won't steal itself! :)

We have a micromanager as well on our end that now gets mad when collaborating with other ADs or managers, so I understand your pain @OP

@aa company policy is 3 days in the office in the US…which lucky team are you in then?

Is that company policy? (not having to specify the day you're in). The part of Verizon I work for the Senior Director has set out Wednesday as the day everyone must be in and then choose a 2nd day.
