I've worked in healthcare long enough to know the odds. Making it to retirement at a single company feels like winning the lottery. Layoffs, restructuring, mergers, or whatever else, but they always find a way to push you out before you get there. I'm not counting on it.

2 people that are important for stars just gave 2 weeks notice because of an awful manager. This is going to be bad. I am staying to see how this plays out. But I will leave by the end of the year.

right there with you. I was hoping for early retirement, but it’s so uncomfortable at work now and I’m so close but I don’t know that it’s worth it anymore. I know of at least two other people over in the utilization review department the feel the same way, and I imagine many more. it’s not like I know everyone obviously but the people I do know that wanted to retire n the next year or so are reaching the point to where they don’t want to wait around anymore andd would rather take their chances making ends meet than put up with this kind of stress.
