Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Do not go into the office 8 hours a day

If we all band together and collectively don’t follow the 8 hours in office, it’ll create so much extra work for mangers, hr, etc. The documented discussions, write ups, pips, involving HR.

They are already extremely tired of hearing and talking about RTO.

I’m not saying don’t go in at all or coffee badge. Get your 3/4 days in and stay 4-6 hours. But don’t do anymore. Show them that we are willing to go in and put our time in but not for 8 hours.

If you’re slacking off and working 2 hours a day just say that. YOU are the reason they are doing this.

It’s a very simple requirement and people abused it.

I like this post! Given the current state of the country, why is WF messing with us so hard? How low can our morale go? Ugh. Can we catch a break at all?

Can't wait for the screams of anguish when they reduce the severance package next year so the "golden parachute" isn't so golden anymore.

100% remote for years prior to COVID. So yes, I very much remember exactly what it was like when this place wasn't run by complete A holes.

I got news for you. They don't give an F if you go to the office or not. They want to torment you until you quit. If it doesn't work, they'll downsize you anyway. Either way, you go. Compliance isn't relevant, unless you're willing to move to I&P and take a pay cut.

So many entitled whiners. If you don’t like the in office requirements then find another job.

For those that cry out that this was the office life pre-Covid, I would submit to you that after the combustible engine was invented people didn't go back to hose and carriage's (except the Amish).

Additionally there are no assigned desks, when people went to the office before they'd have an office or a desk where they could set up and not worry if some stranger sat there taking up any available seating.

@ek maybe you should learn to read better. OP never said don’t work 8 hours. They said don’t work 8 hours in the office.

@eq I love how your guys only argument in this is that we aren’t doing our jobs.

Let me let you in on a little secret… people that aren’t doing their jobs at home also aren’t doing their jobs at the office.

The majority of us are doing our jobs.

Then evolve to a company that lets you work remote, otherwise get to work and do your job slackers. You caused this with your coffee badging and afk status most of the time , lol

@em some people fresh out of college never experienced pre covid working. They’ve only ever experienced hybrid work.

Also, just because we used to do something a certain way doesn’t mean it’s the better or only way.

It’s human nature to evolve. Why can’t that involve hybrid work for those that want it? If you want to go into the office everyday 8 hours a day, knock your socks off. Others may want hybrid. Give people the choice to decide what gives them the best quality of life.

We’ve been doing hybrid work now for 5 years. And you expect everyone to just be blindly onboard with turning the clocks back? Not to mention pre covid, no one’s time and mouse clicks were being monitored in the office unless you worked in a call center. I don’t know anyone person outside of the call center or investment banking that stayed in the office for 8 hours pre covid.

At this point, I would gladly go back to pre covid if it meant all the tracking and checking in would go away.

@bj Define work life balance? What works for one does not work for others. So why not adopt the work to live vs live to work approach.

@ck Have you forgotten what work was like before COVID? You know , get up, get dressed, commute in , work and then commute home…. Every day M-F? Since when did you get entitled to WFH?

@OP Guess you forgot that little part of your work agreement about minimum 40 hours per week. Stop slacking off.

Noncompliance has not been a factor in the decision to tighten the sc--ws. At all. They might say it is, but they are habitual liars. The only thing that matters is the voluntary attrition rate. If it drops below the number HY wants, they torment us more. It's as simple as that.

We all need to understand that this is not an employee vs employee issue, it's an executive vs all the rest of us issue.

@b8 how much stricter could it get?

Maybe OPs point is that work can get done while people still have a good work life balance

Post ID: @bj+1k68chd2x

We’ve been at this now for 3 years.

The more “resistance” the stricter things get, and the more enforcement there is.

By all means though OP, feel free to be one of the sacrificial lambs to prove a point… what point, don’t know but have at it.

This is what we should have done post COVID with RTO. 100% noncompliance. Instead, we collectively bent the knee. How'd that work out for us?
