Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No pay raise this year?

I’m hearing that there will be no raises this year as the company needs to be “fiscally responsible”. Anyone else hearing this?

@c3 You are referring to CPS, not STI. This discussion is around management increases and STI. Stock Together, however, was NOT a negotiated item and can be discontinued for everyone at any time.

Yes, I have heard it as well. I've also heard that the Stock Together program might bite the dust. There will be STI, but it may not be great this year. Time will tell.

@bc your manager has no input to merit increases. It's done by HR.

@a8 the board will have to approve the STI pay out%. it is based on a set of metrics. not sure how the company fared against those metrics.

@OP 50% cut in STI payout for 2026

That’s one way to reduce headcount. 3% pay cut vs a 2% raise.

@cf give them some credit for setting up low value volunteer events and decorating their desks for every holiday while the company goes down the tubes.

I'd be willing to take a 0% pay raise if it means I get to keep my job all year. This corporate job market is brutal right now, and I don't want to be out there.

I'm also at the age where I would start to see age-ism. I need to survive ~10 more years in the corporate world before I retire.

Just my view, but if they don't need to pay it (bonus and stick together) then not doing so saves them money while pushing people to walk without a payoff.

It would destroy the company further and ensure that only people who can't get another job remain but they don't seem so be that forward thinking.

Once again, the same agitators who probably don’t even work at Verizon are back to stir the pot.
Petty little men. Who have no life, meaning or anyone who loves them are back. Thank you! Just remember, Jesus loves you! God Bless!

I’m also concerned about bonuses. I honestly don’t think we will get one, have not heard of an update on targets yet.
