Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Clarity on Cobra situation with those that took VSP?

I've read so many different things on here about what to do about the amount owed with Optum/Cobra.. I went ahead and signed for the amount that was like $1200/month because I assumed the amount will get fixed. This feels F*cking illegal. It's in our signed severance that they will cover us for 3 months. My portion is usually only around $300 a month. So, even if I DID pay the $1200 (which I cant afford too) it would WAY MORE Than those 3 months combined. That place is sooo fu---d. So unorganized. I'm so glad to be out of that fu--ing mess. BUT...does anyone have actual clarity on what we should? Wait to see if the amount adjusts? It's not like most of us can even afford to sue their a-s over this.

Logged into Optum this morning and saw the subsidy reflected on my Oct 1 bill.

@e6 I was just told that even if you pay by 10/1 (that is the amount is adjusted correctly), then it takes 7-10 business days for your plan to even be reinstated, meaning I wont really have coverage for that time period. FU-K Centene.

I just called Optum and was told that the subsidy will show on their site 10 - 15 business days after you sign the separation agreement. So most of us, if not all, signed on 9/4 so the correct amount should show by the end of the week (9/25). First payment is due no later than October 31.
