Just got out of a planning meeting with Managing Director. HIH is having another 3000-5000 seats prepped and our team needs to have SOPs and documentation ready, hire HIH now, and be ready to lose a chunk of US and IRE employees on 10/8.
I’m nauseous and over it.
Over 700,000 U.S. tech jobs were cut and 670,000 H-1B visas were issued to Indians since 2022.
Time to arrest the people involved. They are coming for you Cigna, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon and others.
I am so happy our government is finally doing something about this.

Good for you! I reported it as well. Everyone knows this is going on but nobody is really doing anything.
I think someone’s hand is eventually going to need to be forced.
All of the large for-profit health insurance corporations (e.g., Cigna, Humana, Centene, Elevance, United) are all guilty of these hiring practices.
I think it is going to take like 30k, yes thirty thousand, employees and ex-employees to report this before the federal government will step in and really do something that actually puts a stop to it.
@119 I already reported Cigna and their shady practice of firing US employees to replace with the whole chain of managers, all Indians who accent so thick that I could not understand. These id--t managers will turn around and hire only their Indians relatives and friends. These folks can’t code can’t manage with their fake degrees they bought over there. This needs to stop.

@2ey possibly. However I feel like historically they were notifying them on the date, keeping them on payroll for 30 days then the severance kicks in.
@OP I'm sure if they are targeting Oct 8th then employees would be notified 30 days prior so my guess would be Sep 10th for notification and then gone on Oct 8th. Hey, maybe I can place a bet on Polymarket and win some money.
I think the Evernorth Infrastructure division should be targeted, as they fire innocent people to save their jobs.

@xa 90% sounds like a target for cutting the last 10% and sending those jobs off to HIH. Bad idea though, but I don’t think any US employees are safe. They would replace us with children working in mines if they could get away with it.

@dy I’m not who you replied too but I’m onshore US CSC and if CSC is mainly offshore like you said then that makes so much sense. My team chat has been disbanded since the first round of layoffs in Feb. I don’t think our supervisors want people on the same page lol

@aj Not the OP, but on an infrastructure team and yeah they are at about 8000-9000 now, and they are building out office space to try and hit 15k total. Which means more layoffs. And with the po-p show things have been with CSC and other teams who are mainly HIH, this only means things getting worse. Something big will break eventually and it will be BAD.
At least you’re eligible for bonus if laid on or after Oct 1.

@ae I went thru some homelessness as a contractor in 2018. I worked like a dog, became FTE and earned my way back into stable housing over the past several years. Since my JE on 2/19 I am in constant fear of not being able to get back into work in time to keep my housing. The only hope I have of being able to find work again and to keep my home is in God.

@a6 I know. When I started here in 2018 grateful for the good people that took me on when I was a homeless American living in poverty. Those people are gone now :(
