Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What's going on in Customer Remediation?

Or corporate compliance in general? All the leading stakeholders (CR director, program manager, compliance specialists, fair & responsible banking leaders, etc.) have mysteriously exited the bank and now I just saw someone post that CQA is pulling out of the program too. Seems like the whole program is being redesigned as nothing more than a window dressing.

Used to do some CR reporting and thought about applying for one of their recent openings but something shady seems to be going on in the 2nd line CR team but no one is talking about it. No different than any other area I guess. Just buyin' some time until I can make my exit too, but can't take much more of my current team/manager. I'm afraid there is no greener grass to be found anywhere at this bank.

The FACT and Corporate Compliance teams are a joke! CLOWNS 🤡 How can anyone respect either group anymore? They are incapable of doing their jobs as no one knows even what their jobs are including them. They cant interpret regulations so they just say everything is a violation when its not and hand out issues to make themselves feel relevant.

@375

You don’t have the right information. The credentials of those who sit in CR right now are heads and shoulders above those who say there before and even in FARB. Not to mention, the previous regime had terrible attitudes and contributed to multiple regulatory problems. Just saying someone is a rising star is misleading. Look at the people who actually get recognized by respected publications as rising stars, and there you’ll find your answers.

@2fx Was going to add that the other gal they pushed out of the CR team was also highly regarded in the industry and the former chair of an MBA committee, but now she's back in the directory. We were told she "left the bank." Seriously have to question her intelligence if she came back to that snake pit. Thought they already replaced her anyway?

To add insult to injury, the head of FRBD at the time is a very well respected industry pro who was actually just finishing his time as chair of a CBA committee. But they pushed him out anyways, and replaced him with a dweeb who makes half his salary with a tenth of his intellect. It clearly is a race to the bottom at this bank.

CC is full of deadbeats and wannabes, that’s your first clue. Less is more in that world, unless it includes travel or alcohol.

The real reason that CQA pulled out of testing that area is everyone knows what they are going to find and it’s not a good look for the people who run that area. Think we call this the ostrich approach.

Rising star! Good one! More like opinionated, arrogant blowhard who thought she was in Game of Thrones instead of a corporate office circa 2024.

Lots of cruel things being said in this thread, hopefully they are not true. If they are true, wow.

This is corporate compliance or business line compliance?

Announcement glosses over the fact that WF has a remediation team of hundreds given all the issues they have, and this person was but a grain of sand at the beach in terms of programmatic impact. She “managed” it in the same sense that she managed to get out of bed every morning and go to work.

She was at Comerica for a hot minute most recently which says a lot. All the PMPs in the world will not cover up for ineptitude.

The announcement said the new director used to manage CR at Wells Fargo. If they were looking for someone to help cover up what's really going on, that checks.

Is customer remediation an actual department? Never heard of it.

The person they pushed out was a rising star, and the real reason she “failed” was because she didn’t get the support she needed from her snake of a boss. They needed someone to take the fall so they blame her. Then, that boss goes and gives the whole program to one of his pets with no experience, no ability to think independently, and a “mean girls” mentality. She then goes on to hire another person who lied about her qualifications on her resume, and voila, the program is back on the rails. They will reap what they sow, and next time, there won’t be any excuses.

Most roles were moved to Warsaw. Sort open positions by location to see what positions are being filed where.

I think there are games being played with the CR numbers. All the problems there are miraculously fixed in a matter of weeks? Come on, where’s the accountability? All you need to do to get a job in corporate compliance is lie on your resume and then keep lying when they hire you.
