Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Do we have any clue about the number of people laid off?

I’ve heard all kinds of numbers, with some rumors going as high as 7000. Nobody in my immediate team was affected, but we’re a fairly small group.

@jx idk, I found their response helpful. Yes I know you're not supposed to feed the trolls, but some logic in response to all the drama is refreshing.

@fg You are very poor at recognizing trolling and rage bait. How much time did you waste composing that lengthy screed? This is evidence that most people need to simply stay off social media and the internet. You are wasting your life and damaging your own well being.

@fg We'd love nothing more than to have full transparency. It's by design that we don't. Not all of us have full access to KYT. I'd be willing to bet my 2% raise that at least half the people on here have never even heard of it.

@ey oh so it's Halloween now. And on 11/1 it will be "36,000, it's coming after Veterans Day".... then it's "45,000 on Christmas". Just stop please.

Today there are 68.8k employees onshore, 3.5k offshore which includes a lot in UK, Poland, etc.

Over 1 year ago, on KYT the employees in UK and Poland were counted as onshore. So over 1 year ago we had 72.9k employees listed as onshore but that INCLUDED UK and Poland. KYT (or HR) didn't split that out in the data to KYT.

Yes there are employees now (or soon) in India, but not many (yet).

We are down little over ~4k year over year. I am literally looking at my screenshot of KYT over a year ago and comparing against KYT today.

Now for Contractors
4200 onshore 7400 offshore

today
3000 onshore, 9400 offshore.

THEY ARE NOT LAYING OFF 1000s IN ONE BIG EVENT

It will be spread over a year or more. But yes, the layoffs will not stop.

Let's use actual data people. Stop the speculation and dramatic predictions. It only hurts people more. If you don't know what you're talking about, just hush and just be a reader. You're not helping.

@dk

Everyone with a “C” next to their name in the directory is a contractor though. How many of those listed in India are actual employees. Richard Davis hates it, I’m sure.

Don’t forget there are a fair number of people that resign as well, I’m sure at least 3-4% a year, some of those are not getting filled, so it’s not all RIFs

That number is now 7341 as of today.

Check the directory by country and see how many people are working in India. You can see what groups they are in that don’t show up under the Org chart directory. It was like 6,900 a month ago.

We are currently at 68k employees. We were 75k 2 years ago.

To suggest we are going to go down to 50k in 14 months is laughable. More like 60k to 62k. Unless we sell a major business function, then who knows.

As many mentioned, there would be be WARN notice and it would have been on corporate report for such a large one time expense.

They aren’t laying off 7,000 in one quarter. They are laying off 7,000 in one year to avoid negative press and WARN notice.

They lay off small group ita a time, 3 people here 5 people there, etc..
Every quarter, tons of layoff

After Union Bank acquisition, employees head out was over 80,000.
2 years later, we have just a little over 60,000 employees left.

Figure that out.

We will probably be at 50,000 employees by end of 2026. Figure that out.

I haven't seen any WARN act notices in any of the states where I and my coworkers work.

This site has been pretty quiet for October layoffs. I know there have been some based on what's been posted here but I haven't known any teams or areas impacted.
