I heard it mentioned that over-60s get extended Cobra, but I wasn't able to confirm it yet.

@d3 they did not round my number of service years up, Are you sure they rounded?
@br the cobra is based on your tenure as well.
@OP I have 6.x years of service
they round that to the next whole number, so 7years times
2wks/yr == 14 wks severance
PLUS "enhanced" 4wks severance (aka: carrot lol!)
sooooo, mine would have been 18 total weeks severance, 5 months cobra, and 3 months of job searching(??)
@cj I am calculating you been there 8 plus yrs rounding up to 9. That gives you the 5 months cobra. Am I right ?
@OP 12 years and I got 7 months COBRA
I feel like there was something in the FAQ about Cobra and Medicare. That might be what you are thinking about.
@br no, not for me. I got the offer of 5 months COBRA, but I've not been here for 10 years.
I've been here more than 5 years tho
You get the number of months of cobra equal to your tenure. Meaning if you work here 10 yrs, you get 20 weeks $ (2 weeks for every yr) and also get 5 months cobra (20 wks divid by 4 ( 4 weeks in a month). Make sense? Anyone have a diff calculation?
@OP I don't know what others got in their offers, but I'm not yet 60 and supposedly I was to get 5 months enhanced cobra.
I didn't take the offer as I didn't want to leave Centene. AND our hlth ins is shoddy...so 5 months of them picking up their end of it (cobra) still didn't make my hlth ins not-shoddy.
Just call HR to find out.
I’m over 60 and didn’t see anything. But it isn’t clear to me how they figured severance.
