Yes, Cigna is trying to sell it but it's currently hard to find a buyer for this type of business. Prior authorization and denying of claims is under a lot of pressure right now. Plus, the business is a mess as anyone who has had to work with them knows.

Are we going to hear something this year? Some EviCore leaders already moved to other Cigna groups or left company.

Potentially, yes. Cigna has publicly put eviCore under a “strategic review of alternatives.” That was announced in April 2026.
Cigna has not publicly announced a completed sale as of now. Brian Evanko specifically said that a transaction was not already underway and mentioned possibilities including a partnership, combination with another industry participant, or another strategic alternative.
Cigna hasn’t said “we’re selling eviCore,” but eviCore is clearly on the table for divestiture.
