Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Should I not leave my current job if I’m offered a position with Cigna?

Since I’m seeing people worried about layoffs, should I decline if a position is offered to me? I had an interview that went well but I don’t want to end up getting sc--wed over by leaving my current company if I am offered a job with Cigna and end up being laid off a few months down the road

@OP Stay as far away from here as you can. Under no circumstances come here. We are all trying to get out. Most of my friends here spend their time applying outside.

@OP Cigna is the most toxic company I have ever worked for . You will cry they only care about making money and metrics not the customer. There will be unreasonable workload and expectations. So many people go on medical leaves due to toxic culture.

Are you in the US? If so dont bother youll just be training Raj from HIH to do your job before they lay you off

A few years ago , I would say yes but it is so bad I don’t think I can get recommend. I actually have pending offers and will most likely take one. Lower pay but better for me. HR has gotten too wishy washy. See one thing out loud and do another. I mentor interns and would caution them.

Don’t do it. It’s not the same company it was 5 years ago.

@qf Thankfully, they gave me 6 months severance, my pro-rated bonus, and paid out all of my vacation days. That was immensely helpful. Took me 8 months to land another job at a company I worked at in the past. Took a 20% pay cut, but glad I landed at a great company! It's rough out there..

Do NOT consider Cigna. Toxic culture. Layoffs every month.

I left a very cushy job to head to Cigna a couple of years ago with hopes of staying there longterm. 11 months later, I was laid off. Don't make the jump to Cigna. Look elsewhere. You'll be living in fear, and that's no way to live.

Cigna is a great place to work.

If you would be hired as a contractor, then you'd be at the top of the list to be cut. Regardless, being new means you have less connections when it comes time for your manager to decide who to cut when they are told to. Lastly, if you dont perform as well as expected you might get let go anyways. Cigna is heavily outsourcing employment to India.

If you cant handle that stress and uncertainty then dont work for Cigna and also contact your representatives about reforming PBMs and insurance companies.

I would look elsewhere. Cigna would be at the bottom of my list if I were job-searching now.

If you are looking for long term employment Cigna is not the place for you.
