If this is true, I hope they bring back the cafeteria or at least give us a better option than one vending machine. It takes a minimum 30-45mins to go thru a drive-thru for lunch (as there is no restaurant close to the office building).

Yes, I can bring food my own food. However, leftovers do not excite me and salads are currently making me physically sick right now.

@ae BR absolutely did not have capacity prior to COVID. The parking was a complete disaster.

@c1 same. I have backup plans. Verizon is not my owner. I have no interest in going back to the noisyass office 5x a week. Good luck with one less person on an already down-to-the-bone operation. Dipsh-ts.

I'll just quit or not RTO until I get reprimanded. The benefits of not being beholden to my paycheck

@ba you missed their point… The individual is being proactive and making a calculated move. They didn’t say it was fool proof. They are just trying to get a leg up on the next move SHOULD there be one. Wise choice.

At real estate we only closed offices that weren't being utilized. If you weren't utilizing them, that's a you problem

Kind of hard to RTO when they decided to close yours or converted it to “network only”

@b9 I’d love to hear what you have to say if your cut during the next RIF BEEN A COUPLE OF MONTHS

I survived this round and I went back to the office when it was obvious that's what the higher ups wanted. So, I'm good till the next round.
To those of you that wouldn't see the writing on the wall....
To those of you that resist rto....
To those of you that refuse rto...
To those of you that made it difficult or impossible to rto...
No sympathy here. You're getting what you asked for.
You're experiencing stress you created for yourselves
If you getting cut let's me feed my family for a few more months.... su-ks for you

Might be hard to believe but when I started we worked 5 days, suit & tie and made great friends for life. Hybrid/DEI ki-led the Company.

@OP we have been home base 25 30 years spread out. We will continue to be home base. I thought we were first in line for the cuts, again. Good to see this sites keeps the 99% false info flowing.

@ae parking in Basking Ridge will surely be a pain in the a-s. Even at three days a week in the office, it was difficult to find a parking space.

@ac BR has capacity....they did pre covid. Other buildings prob will be let go

Fake until proven otherwise.....some buildings don't have the capacity while others do.... even so.... same disregard by leadership as before.

Makes sense. They are renovating NP to cram as many bodies as possible. It’s expected to be done by eoy. It won’t stop VZ’s race to the bottom, but at-least they will know chatty Kathy isn’t hanging at the pool with the kiddos or disgruntled Dave at the golf course.

Personally it su-ks because I have IBS and constantly blow up the bathroom. The tp is like sandpaper on my hemroids.

If this is really happening, then I’m actually glad I got laid off. Flexibility is really important to me. When I joined Verizon, it was two days a week in the office. Five days is not what I signed up for.

@a5 exactly. No one would even think about quitting in such horrible employment market. People need to undestand that the tide has turned and it is 100% employers controlled market with all the RIFs and the ecosystem we live in currently

I can see that coming to drive more people out voluntarily. Honestly some people are really abusing WFH and we all know that
