The problem is the buildings and houses the fiber installs go in have been built by humans. Not easy to install. If AI humanoids build the structure than the installation will work. AI ai.

As someone who has been in the field for 30 years, all of our infrastructure is going wireless or fiber. CO’s are already being turned down. There will be little use for field techs such as myself sooner rather than later.
