The Federal Govt is stepping up immediate deportation of RIF'd H1-B visa holders and removing spouses from receiving work visas also. Rules are rolling out at this time.

In the march layoff round. I have seen many h1 employees get fired. In my team only it was 3 h1b

Firms do not deport workers, that's the government's job. H1-B's can be terminated and they have a brief period to find another job if they are terminated. If they cannot find another sponsor in the allotted time then they are supposed to leave. I suppose they could stay illegally, but I don't envision them becoming roofers, drywallers or or vocations that are heavily populated by the "undocumented".
