The old idea of spending your entire career at CDW doesn't make much sense anymore. This place has proven it will reorganize or eliminate your position regardless of how long you've been here. These days, switching jobs can be the fastest way to increase your salary and take on a better role. How times have changed...

@cu I will dance and then change my attitude and push forward for CDW. I still believe in CDW but those three are ki-ling us. I work in legal and agree that our ELT lead is unethical and clueless. There would be a big party if those three are kicked out and our customers and culture would notice. You have changed everything else and the culture and wins are still a problem. So how long will it take for the BOD to be bold and cut them?
Ain’t no loyalty in this game
@b3 I will dance like the ewoks at the end of star wars if those three were let go
If they want to create a new culture, let's all work together on this. New coworker or old, young or older, male or female, regardless of race, politics, or religion we should resist the bullsh-t culture games and communications that are coming and not change until the three biggest culture and success breakers are gone. When Chris L, Liz, and Rick are let go, we will breathe and come together. While those three remain, none of us will cooperate. You want change, then fire the ones that broke this sh-t.
@ay So you just proved the original post. No loyalty from them means no loyalty from us.
@aw It doesn't make sense if you expect to be kept in a job for your years of service, not in this economy. You can be let go for any reason (not the legal discrimination ones) and it doesn't have to be performance related. If you're making "too" much on your comp plan then the company can let you go, no reason, nothing is owned except what you are due. Not very nice not fair and not the old "we are a family" mentality that many people still have - which is surprising if you have looked around the tech industry over the past 20 years. It's about money, not your personal worth or your feelings, it's only money and greed.
@OP it is sad
@ad That wasn't his or her point. Re-read his post. Your response doesn't make sense in relation to the initial post. Our department's top sales person was let go. We are guessing it is because he had huge extra pay based on his hard work, big wins, and success. The second and third top sales people suffered the same consequences. So it seems the middle of the road sales people are the safest.
maybe loyalty isn't a career goal because it's ridiculous to think you should be paid for showing up and just breathing every day --- not due to your actual work contributions? we all would like to work with nice friendly people and believe that our good intentions will be rewarded with lots of $$ and a job for life but really? it's not 1970 anymore with generous pension plans and the gold watch after 30 years, if you don't think you're being compensated for your role then you should absolutely look for another company who will appreciate you with appropriate salary and benefits. just a hint - it's not how this company runs
