I’ve seen tooth dates stated- if anyone in here really knows then provide details on what group you’re in and where you got your information. It’s inevitable there will be layoffs - people just want a heads up.

@e2 well November 20 doesn’t leave 45 days till end of year.
@dk Funny!
@eb Easy math to be off the books on a pay week.... 4 weeks notice on a pay week gets you 2 additional pay periods (4 weeks) to either find another role or be separated. Separation on a pay week is 'cleaner' for the books.
Get rid of Mumbai HQ in Irving TX and the company will be saved
@e2 does anyone know why they need to go r notice the week of pay period?
@aw T&M = Time and Material [Contractors]
@e8 WNO = Wireline Network Operations
@dx what is WNO?
A Thu before a pay period "with at least 45 days" until the end of the year.
For WNO we have been told a 15%ish reduction with a November 20th notification date and off books on December 20th.
If there is a firm date then it will likely be 45 days or a few more from the end of the year.
There may not be one this year because of the recent changes and the need to set up some triage to figure out where the damage is and how best to treat it.
"When in doubt, do nothing!" until you know what to do exactly.
Every plan that was is being evaluated somewhere close. Those who do know will definitely not post here for a while.
new date is Nov 31
Nov 20 is notification date the Oct. 30 has no merit the day after earnings
t&m is time and material contractors and they can be operational or capital expense. Operational is what most of us are and if there is a rif, t&m will have to go if they are operational since they come from the same budget as our income
Time & material guys have no expense. Unlike employees who have their salary+benefits as expense to the budget. I would guess after the merger there will be another massive cut. This is just beginning
@b3 one of the ways they justified all the contractors (that we have to train like revolving door) is so if they need to cut costs they wouldn’t have to RIF employees. Let’s see if that’s true. At some point there won’t be anyone left to train all the contractors
This time around, be prepared for the unexpected. It's a new ball game. For years, they avoided notifications in November because of the holidays, and avoided Friday's due to the weekend. While the latter will probably stay true, the former may not.
Worst kept secret at the moment. What comes to mind, paraphrased.... the fear of [a riff] is worse than [the riff] itself....
@at will it just be employees or will the required numbers include contractors?
@as what is t&m
@as what group are you in that was told November 20?
October 30 management submits who they are RIFing November 20 those affected get notified
We were told November 20 off books December 20. No idea if any of this applies to all of the t&m contractors. Those jokers will probably stay while employs get canned.
I would get rid of everyone in Texas, that place is a Money pit of do nothings. Fake volunteering should be eliminated too. Every director not responsible for a budget, cya
@OP If it is to happen, 90% probability of the date being 10/30, to get the staff off the books by 12/31. That being said, if VZ follows former practices of RIF's (60 days).
