Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Good ole days

Remember when we used to get Best shot awards, exceptional service awards, and the lucky few, annual trips to Hawaii?
Forget the gold Rolex watch from that back alley in Hong Kong, just get me my severance package to sign. That’ll be better than all the awards and trips to Hawaii.

According to Wall Street, hedge questionable employment status by buying the company stock. I remember the days when it was hovering right around nine dollars a year.

Wells Fargo used to legit be a good place to work.

I was hired during the depths of the account scandal, after only a single phone interview. I remember being shocked at the time there weren't further interview rounds, just straight to offer. The salary offer came in at the top of my range.

After getting settled in my first few weeks I was offered a full time telecommute agreement. Rest of my team was remote and there was no value add to my being in office. There was no discourse about productivity or accommodations, just a handshake deal. Remote at that time meant dialing in to conference calls, no horsesh-t about mandatory camera-on meetings. And it was FINE. No one questioned whether it was productive or not, we just got to work.

A few months into my employment the CEO gave a restricted share grant and added two personal holidays. Six months in, when jobs in my job family were being re-leveled, my manager went to bat to get me moved from analyst to engineer with an accompanying salary increase. Without me asking.

Sh-t wasn't perfect but I was actually excited to log in every day back then. I contrast that to the existential dread and complete flatline of motivation I feel with regards to Wells these days and its depressing.

Prob being very millenial here but I’d rather they skip all that and just pay everyone more

@ar
Well that could be a problem. You have 45 days to sign the documentation. The clock starts on Day 1 of your notice period. Said notice period is usually connected to the meeting where you were verbally told you are displaced. So, if I was you, I'd be on the phone asking. If you sit and wait....and the deadline passes....not sure how to recover from that.

The MVP event for branch banking was awesome this year! Hoping to make it to San Diego this year as well.

@ap I wish I was that fortunate. I’m going on two months and have not received anything to sign, yet.

Got my papers same day. Its electronic DocuSign. Package came by email. As I understand it, snail mail is the backup if for some reason they can't email it to you.

Very convenient.....for them.

@a9 how many days did it take HR to get you the paperwork to sign for severance?

I guess I'm lucky then....I got some of the awards you mentioned, and on 9/30 I got the package too!
Going through the 5 stages still....but perhaps I'm the luckiest of all and just don't know it. Time will tell. My stress levels are way lower now, that's for sure!!
