9 hour in office requirement?

What’s up with word floating around that the in office requirement is being updated to 9 hours for the day to count?

I have it on good authority that the expectation is 24 hours in the office.

@ak except for, deep in the labor laws at dol.gov, and for most states following default regulations, lunch is not required inside the 8 hour window

9 hrs has been communicated and required for India. They never skip lunch (dinner). The ones I work with said they got an email about it a few weeks ago.

Man I worked fast food jobs as a teenager that spent less time on micromanaging people's clocking in/out than Wells Fargo does. I would feel like such a tool if I was a pulling an ED-level salary and had to spend any amount of time/attention thinking about my people's in-office hours. What a waste of time and resources

They know who is just working the bare minimum of eight hrs so since nobody is skipping lunch every day the company is going to force everyone to be here nine hours a day in response. Getting paid to work an eight hr day but only working seven will be the new equivalent of coffee badging when it comes time for evals.

Yes. 8 hours of productivity plus 1 hour unpaid lunch. Should be the bare minimum we do every day so tracking should pose no issues.
