I know of three people in GNC that have been informed that they are impacted. It's real and it's happening today. I am in GNC, and not a bot or a troll. Been at VZ for 20+ years.

@ae Band 7 is lowest level of mgt outside of retail sales (9v) and admin assistants (8v). In the old days they were called 1st levels.
@b7 you can upskill all you want, but it won't help you stay at Vz. Might help you in your next gig though. Back when VZ was first starting to shift their data centers to AWS, they spent THOUSANDS of $$$$ per person getting their developers in some departments AWS certified. Six months later they outsourced us all to Infosys.

I’m wondering if AI usage has anything to do with this? In an all-hands the EVP said something like, Next time I’ll know who’s using Gemini/got certified, and in another department call, the SVP said I haven’t heard anything about RIFs, so no guarantees, but I think you should just focus on your upskilling, especially AI.

Very real. Got my 'meeting' request at 0803 - June 7th exit. 38 years with VZ
Our finance team lost a few people also.
We had been cut 40% in the Nov RIF.
