Pregnancy In-Office Exemption

Just FYI- pregnancy is a valid reason for an in-office exemption. It's called an "accommodation request" and extremely easy to submit the form. I submitted the form at 3pm and I was called the next day at 7:30am and it was approved by 9am and took effect immediately.

Pregnancy in the third trimester is a legit reason to WFH.”
If this is true, it makes me wonder about women today. My wife worked until the 9th month and then had baby next day with NO payment after. My advice is take the paid leave you get now and stop complaining. Or they will find someone else and block all female hiring or growth at firm.

Pregnancy in the third trimester is a legit reason to WFH. Anyone who says otherwise has never been pregnant. It is debilitating at times. Also, the life of a child is nothing to mess with. WFH allows a woman to take better care if herself and her unborn child. Period.

Be prepared to get “inconsistently meets” or “does not meet” expectations rating on your performance while you are out of office! They don’t want anyone taking accommodations or out on medical leave.

@a2 There has to be more to this because regular pregnancy does not qualify as a disability.

What's the accommodation though?

Btw...it's a lot easier to get an "accommodation" for an assigned desk than people think. However, getting a WFH accommodation will be very tough.

@ad you can get it for the term of your pregnancy depending on the reason. You just need your OB to complete a form on your behalf to request an accommodation (e.g., telecommute for the duration of pregnancy due to excessive nausea, GI distress, etc.)

This is how Wells Fargo will encourage more women to give birth.

What exactly was the reason ? Are you close to your due date, complications, etc?

I couldn’t even get a spot closer to the door as an accommodation in the last couple of weeks when I was pregnant. Glad for you!
