Bonus & raises

So I got a 3% merit and 13% bonus which was about the same as last year. How about y'all? 👀

@a6 alas, they don’t adjust bonus for upgrades anymore. Thought process they give is that bonus your last year as a lower level must be higher since you performed well enough to get a promo.

A completely incompetent person on my team got a promotion, so not sure what to expect as the person who held their hand because they couldn’t figure anything out on their own. Maybe I’ll get a pay cut?

@ae I am making some assumptions. When you said your friend joined, I took that to mean they were hired mid-year. If that's true, then it would make sense they wouldn't get much of a raise, if any when compared to the others who have been there for a year. It's an easy decision from a managers perspective.

If it were just an internal lateral move with no compensation tied to it, then yeah, that would be messed up.

@ae a friend or your daughter? Tell her that's it's time to be an adult and figure it out for herself

@ad thanks. Can she expect the same for next year or be hopeful for an adjustment ? We never know I guess.

A friend of mine joined in the middle of the year, is it normal that she didn’t get any merit raise?

Got my first bonus this year, was hourly before this role. I haven’t been in this position for the full year, so is the bonus that I got prorated? I’m assuming so. I guess I’m trying to figure if I’m still in this role next year will it be bigger than what I got this year.

1.9% merit
14% bonus

Bonus was identical to previous role P4 despite 13 months in role as P5

Got meets, positive feedback all year
