Currently working Hybrid and been told that Thursday is remote day while Tuesday and Wednesday are office days.
Def not a coincidence even if they want to frame it as early thanksgiving break.

Go to teh office on Thursday and whether you are RIFF'd or not walk out carrying boxes and plants just for the he-l of it!
@ab "The reason is that years earlier the media got wind of layoffs, and showed pictures of employees carrying out boxes. So they do a WFH day to avoid this media coverage."
So should we expect increased security and possibly news reporters on site on Thursday?
Thinking I may go into the office. I would rather be told at work vs home and I prefer the news be delivered face to face. If I am impacted, I am sure I will need to time to reflect on how I will share the news with my family and friends.
@ab you can still go into the office, no one is stopping you.
This is now SOP for the layoff announcement day. They took it directly from what Target did last month.

My accounting group has been told to WFH for remainder of the year.
Thursday WFH, Friday just....FH, Monday FH, Tuesday FH, Wednesday FH. Repeat.
Why do they want to do this? This RIF is so shady. Big push to bring us back to the office and to all of a sudden give us this is nothing short but suspicious.
