Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

questions for those laid off...

Sorry if this has been answered in a previous post, and I've got a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer.

  1. So we work like normal for the final 90 days, in addition to the standard salary for these last three months, will we get severance on top of it? From what I'm seeing online, some people have said 2 weeks' pay for each year.
  2. What happens to all the PTO that we had planned out for the rest of the year after June 30th? Will we be paid out for those missed days, or should I cancel those and take them between now and June 30th?

My entire team just went through this.

Regular payroll thru your last day. Once your severance agreement arrives to your personal email and you accept terms, your severance will be processed.
This is taxed as a bonus. 52 weeks is the max that I received after 36 years of service.

You lose any vacation/sick/PTO not used prior to your separation date.

@OP would love to know where you are. In GA we either go to Cognizant or not. With both options there is no severance and you best take any accrued PTO in the next two weeks.

In addition to not paying out unused PTO, they may put limitations on how much PTO they will approve between now and June 30.

@aa Correct. I know someone who saved up their PTO until EOY, got let go in November and lost all of that time. It was not paid out.

Unless you live in a state that requires vacation payout, FIS won’t pay out the hours. Make sure to use your accrued vacation, sick, and floating holidays before 6/30

@OP Good day. I was laid off June 2025, didn't use any of my time off, and didn't get any that had built up. I also got severance pay but that 8 weeks worth.

Try and get a copy of the severance policy to learn about what is happening. No, you will not be paid for unused PTO or sick days. I lost 2 weeks last year when I was laid off. Take vacation days now and burn them off until 6/30!
