We need analysts not SM or project Manager for every team. PM can manage larger projects but having SM for 5 people team was too much. That too when most of them don't know tech or finance or even project management.
There are still SMs in FI and Wealth. They will change the title as Project Manager. Those useless folks will always be there in some shape or form
@a8
as was my son-in-law. it's real.
@a9 I feel for those folks. While pushed so hard - many analysts and project managers pressured to assume SM or Agile coaches were told to do so because their system analysts or project manager job titles were no more. Now they are being shown the door. They pay the price for fidelity's inability to make agile successful. Many talented individuals caught up in this nonsense. If this was you I hope you land on your feet.
@a9 all SM across all BU ?
Just because you or your BU is not impacted doesnt mean its not happening. I know someone that was laid off.
The scrum master role is no more
@OP my brother in law was just laid off... So obviously not.
I was let go this morning, so I found out the hard way it's real. Not thrilled about it, but saw the writing on the wall.
Your lack of awareness ≠ nothing’s happening. People are being let go, asked to log off for the day, and asked to not share anything until all conversations are completed.
I know someone who was just laid off so yeah they are happening. (squad leader)
@a1 just saw one walk out in tears and lost one in my space as well so far. One was a VP one a Director
@a1 right - if you got whacked the percentage is 100% and posts on this board were not hype
@a1 which BU ? i am in wealth.I dont see anything here
@OP while I agree with your sentiment that it’s a good idea to try not to work yourself into a froth, there are layoffs happening actively. So let’s also not treat this like a giant conspiracy. At the very least, I know 8 SLs who were let go this morning. I don’t know how calm they’re feeling.
