Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What's method for notification? Calls, email, webex? Also, Who is going to notify?

Haven't seen any posts around that. Are managers going to call? Any one can confirm if they got documents to share? Usually that happens at least a day before?

We were told to stay home and wait for a phone call...who knows??!!
Does it matter how the message is delivered??
I volunteered to go...I'm ready to retire..
I fear they'll keep me and cut someone else who really deiendes on this job..hopefully not..
Best of luck all!!!
BTW...how much is Hans being given to stay on as "consultant "?????!

@aq not true. Plenty of trolling on this board but many of us are sharing what we know to be true. My AD has been very communicative and has told us what we can expect. They haven’t given us numbers or names but they very much have tried to prepare us to the best of their ability.

Nobody knows sh-t, everyone is just creating more rumors. This is tense for sure but try and focus on what we can control. This unfortunately we cannot control.

They used to do in person pre-covid with a sheet of paper wishing you good luck in your job search to put a nice positive spin on being dumped.

Our group was told today that impacted people would receive some type of notification from our AD in the morning. Then, sometime before noon, those of us who are left will be invited to a 15 minute call. We were told to be remote but paying attention for either the AD notification and/or the ‘all clear’ group call.

@ag The one pager might be, but what does it matter? The severance portal is not accessible until the notification date. They CANNOT legally (my reference is VZ Legal here, not federal or state law) notify you until the notification date in the documentation, which is expected to be tomorrow 11/20/25. You will know soon enough if you are impacted and if you are, everything you need will be provided to you. Verizon is very good at the RIF process. Best wishes.

Your SD will make you all stand in a line blindfolded then Dan S will personally go one by one, if he karate chops you in the 🥜 then you’ll know you’re riffed.

@af Is portal/1 pager already available and shared for notifying person?

It will be a phone call by your supervisor. If your direct supervisor is impacted, it could be another supervisor under your next level up or the next level up themselves. You will receive a one sheet handout that has information about logging into the Severance site to retrieve all your documentation (there are many documents including the OWBPA report if you are 40+).

@aa sounds fishy. There would have to be very few employees affected if the AVP is going to contact each person, one by one.
Unless the AVP is only contacting direct reports.
On the other hand, I'd respect someone who did that voluntarily.

We were told impacted people in our group will get a call from our AVP. I assume that does not apply to all orgs

@OP Someone on my team showed people a doc from inside that detailed the plan and said that layoffs will happen via phone not Webex or google meet.

I heard that there will be two calls, one with people that are impacted and one with people that are not impacted per SD.
