Predictions:

In my head, it’s going to be like a big worksheet.

PART 1 - WHO?

Ratings are a part of it. A 3 of 5 will keep you employed, so long as there aren’t any layoffs, but if there are no 1’s or 2’s then that means the 3’s are first. Quota attainment will bear direct weight for incentive-based roles.

Job code. Individual RIF or entire team RIF.

TOTAL cost to sever. Current salary, banked PTO and current-year PTO on the books, RETIREMENT ELIGIBILITY, your particular state’s WARN notice period (standard 60 day federal guideline, or enhanced state overlay like NJ)

Tally up numbers to count Over 40’s, ethnicity breakdown, etc. for cross-section.

PART 2 - PETITIONING

Who has signed severance, who has declined. You have a period in which you can revoke your signature, after which, it becomes irrevocable. Those who have not signed their rights away - ??? Unknown.

I’m not a coder, but before the source disappeared, can someone confirm if there was what appeared to be the possibility to override each reference value. If so, why and when would this be used?

My hopeful speculation is that if someone doesn’t sign the severance and they have to record any enhanced package offered?

@ac comes with your package if you are 40+. No names, just titles and counts.

@ac He is just stating that if you're over 40, and you get laid off, the company has to include that verbiage in the severance package and when you agree to the severance package it waives your rights to sue them for age discrimination.

@A9, do you mean that if we are rog'd and over 40 yrs old, they will provide that list? Hard to believe imthey provide that proactively. Do folks need to formally request it? Also, surely they can't share names

@a7+1ka278xkb to clarify OWBPA reports are typically run at a very high level and contain the job titles and ages from all people in the affected group. One section has the counts of those affected and one section has the counts of those that are not. The headcount you are referring to could very well be the total headcount of the group in that report (like a whole business unit). They are required to include this report in the severance package of anyone 40+, so you'll see it sooner than later if you are on the term list and you meet the age criteria.

@a6 No. basically it was IT and HR, SOW support working together in an unlocked slack channel. The reports they were running were related to OWBPA, headcount, group job eliminations, individual job elimination.
Headcount showed 29,288, was not confirmed as the amount of people getting laid off... but seems accurate to what others are seeing and saying..

they caught wind of the fact that we can see what they were doing and removed it the channels associated with severance. Probably since they were having to deny rumors of mass layoffs.
