Thread regarding Comcast layoffs

If the names don’t include VPs and above, I don’t want to hear it. The worker bees didn’t set the strategy, we were told to execute it. Now our livelihoods are on the chopping block while the people who steered us here get to call it a “transformation.” How convenient.

Hold those in charge accountable. Apparently, that’s a foreign concept. Be transparent about who’s impacted, and stop treating employees as collateral damage.

And if you put our names on that list while shielding yourselves, don’t expect silence. We will speak openly about your decisions and their consequences. You don’t get to outsource accountability along with our jobs.

Please no names. If I'm correct, anything bellow C-suite is not allowed so the thread could be nuked. Plus, I don't think folks who are being laid off would appreciate their names shared all over the net at one of the worst moments of their lives. Outside of that, thanks for any info like groups, numbers, and stuff like that!

@ad lucky. I had to go to work for 3 months after being notified in order to keep my eligibility for severance. The division deletion was a soul crushing experience

When I was impacted by layoffs at Comcast last year, my last day was between 2 and 3 weeks of me being notified. So I don’t think that’s true for everyone

I would think 10/30 makes more sense.

Less than a week notice? When was the last time Comcast gave less than a week notice? It’s always been 1+ month.

9/30 is less than a week from today. Those let go in the earlier rounds at least had enough time to burn off Flex days and floating holidays (accrued vacation days are paid out while those are not).
