Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Tomorrow

So if we get the email tomorrow about the VSP, we shouldn’t worry because everyone is getting them, or should we worry?

@a3 the email said that senior managers, new hires and anyone “vital to the organization” (paraphrasing here) aren’t eligible. So, it won’t go out to everyone, but I’m guessing it will be offered to a large number of us.

Everyone is not receiving emails. You will receive an email indicating one of these:
A - eligible and will receive instructions to accept or not accept voluntary severance
OR
B - NOT eligible and nothing else to do except look for a new job

You should worry either way.
Additional layoffs that are involuntary will be in August.

Never worry.
It's an energy depleting exercise in corrosive futility, and solves nothing.

Instead:
Remain calm but alert,
Realistically weigh your options,
Have a flexible mindset,
Be open to change,
Choose wisely,
Move precisely,
&
Enjoy life, because nothing is guaranteed.

From my understanding, it will go out to everyone

I think we should worry if the email says we are eligible.

If you scroll down, someone claiming to be a senior director said that receiving the email doesn’t mean you’re at risk of being laid off. It simply means you’ve been at the company for two years and have the option to take it if you’d like to avoid the risk of future layoffs. Centene lost a lot of money with enrollment being down, and they are trying to save money by letting employees take a VSP as opposed to potentially getting laid off. The more people who take a VSP allegedly means the less people they’d have to lay off. I hope that makes sense, I know it’s terrifying either way.
